To broaden academic exchange channels for graduate students and foster a vibrant academic atmosphere, the School of Foreign Languages will hold the 21st Borong Forum and Graduate Academic Salon on the theme of “Language, Literature, and Translation” on December 10, 2023. In line with the forum schedule, we are now calling for academic papers from graduate students of the School. All graduate students are cordially welcomed.
I. Forum Overview
The Borong Forum and Graduate Academic Salon on “Language, Literature, and Translation” is a key component of graduate education and a signature academic event at our School. It aims to enhance graduate students’ capacity for independent research and innovation, while fostering a positive academic environment. This annual academic gathering for all graduate students will take place on December 10 (Sunday). The morning session will feature distinguished scholars sharing cutting-edge research in the discipline, and the afternoon session will consist of academic salons held in separate panels.
II. Eligibility
All graduate students of the School of Foreign Languages, Central South University.
III. Topics
Contributions may focus on (but are not limited to) the following themes. Participants are encouraged to formulate their own titles:

IV. Registration
Students, in consultation with their supervisors, should select a theme for their paper. The completed Registration Form for the 2023 Graduate Academic Salon (see Attachment 1) must be submitted to the respective class monitor by November 26. File naming convention: Theme No. + Name + Grade and Major (e.g., Theme 1 + Zhang San + 2023 English Language and Literature). Class monitors will collect all forms and forward them to the organizing committee via email at 2471140290@qq.com.
V. Submission Deadline
December 4, 2023, 24:00 (as per email timestamp).
VI. Submission Requirements
Students who have registered are required to prepare an academic paper, reading report, or equivalent on their chosen theme. Submissions should be at least 1,000 words in length and demonstrate theoretical grounding, academic rigor, and originality. Additionally, participants must prepare presentation materials (e.g., speech script, PPT) for the forum session. These materials are to be collected by the panel group leaders and sent to the organizing committee by December 4. Panel group leaders will be designated based on the registration data.
VII. Additional Information
Each participant’s presentation will be assessed as part of the corresponding module in their graduate program. Those who pass the assessment will receive academic credit, and outstanding presentations will be rewarded according to relevant regulations.
